Update to Employers:

The new Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007 increases the federal minimum wage as follows:

Effective July 24, 2007 – increase to $5.85 per hour
Effective July 24, 2008 – increase to $6.55 per hour
Effective July 24, 2009 – increase to $7.25 per hour

You will want to ensure all employees are paid at least the $5.85 per hour rate by July 24, 2007. If state and federal rates differ, the higher rate must be paid.
